The coding club kicked off November with an exciting event at the Saginaw Barnes and Noble. This event included a demonstration of how students use code.org, an in-store scavenger hunt, cupcake decorating, as well as hands on robotics and makerspace activities. All coding club members, families, friends, and Caro Community Schools staff were specially invited to attend this unique event which was also open to the public. Part fundraiser, part fun, Barnes & Noble donated a portion of each sale made by attendees back to the club. With a constant stream of purple t-shirts throughout the store, over 100 individuals came out during the 5 hour event. Thanks to this overwhelming support, the Schall Coding Club will be able to expand their program through the purchase of several items from their technology wish list. These items include 2 Coder MiP robots, Bloxels, as well as Raspberry Pi and Makey-Makey computer kits.
