If they drop a germ, they have to pick it up with the tweezers and set it aside. This can make things more difficult if you are playing with four players since there are only four of each color and shape. The first one to get the correct colors and shapes in the correct sections, calls out that they are finished and collects the card. We say, "Eureka!" just for the fun of it. First one with five cards wins. It seems a bit silly but the game is teaching pattern recognition, problem solving, color and shape sorting, as well as working with fine and gross motion. The kids just think it is fun. ☺There are other variations which include a hot potato style "superbug." One this is for sure, these are the only germs or bugs we want to see this winter.
