Over Easter some new additions to our class arrived. Bob the Sphero and Stuart the Ollie have been welcomed with curiosity and excitement. While we aren't experts in how they work, we learn a little more each time we use them. So far we have found that Stuart is faster on the straightaways than Bob but Bob can turn more easily and quickly. When simply racing long distances, Stuart will win but it does take a little for him to get started so Bob is better on the short side. Both have some interesting tricks up their non-existent sleeves but Bob has a wonderful color show. Bob can also do the Hokey Pokey which is always good for a laugh. Bob put your right hand in... Oh you don't have hands. Put your right leg... Bob! Put your whole self in! A former student spent several hours on our April snow day (yes, that's right, APRIL SNOW) working with Stuart trying to get him to hit a ramp so he could jump and then just running him around the hallways. Whenever Bob and Stuart are out, the kids are excited to see them go and of course all beg to get to run them. We are hoping to add a few more friends for them in the future: maybe Dave, Phil, Jerry, Carl...
