So, even though the first Donor's Choose project went through and was funded, I swore to myself that I was not going to do one again for a while because I really felt like I was driving people insane with my posting about it on social media. Well... It seems that didn't last long because here I go again. This time instead of new technology (which everyone knows that I love) I am looking for books that I can use to expose my students to interesting careers in STEM related fields. I want to send these books home with them so that they can not only learn about them but teach their parents as well. I was really excited while researching exactly which books I wanted to find that one of them is about Jane McGonigal who I had the privilege to hear speak just last week at a technology conference. Such a small and fascinating world! STEMland: An Exploration in Reading

It's official. I am now a 2017 Swivl Pioneer. What does this mean? Well, I have been accepted to help blaze new trails in the upcoming world of personalized observation in cooperation with the Swivl company. For the next year I will be testing out technology hardware and software, blogging about the experiences, and in general learning new things from like minded people. I'm so excited to announce that the Cubelets project that I posted last month received the last of its funding last night and is now completely funded. Confirmation came this morning that they have been ordered and I am hopeful that they will arrive next week before we leave for the MACUL conference. I really can't wait for the joy of opening the package/packages with the kids. I also want to plan a lesson that we can do before Spring Break. Isn't that always the way? Something new always comes with at least a little bit more work.
